For Amazon buyers whose money went missing

Amazon took your refund back — or never sent it.

You returned the item. The tracking says delivered. Then the refund never landed — or it landed and Amazon charged it back weeks later — or a letter arrived warning you about your returns — or the account simply closed, with your balance locked inside it. Amazon publishes the punishments in detail and the appeals in whispers. This site is the map it doesn't publish: what happened to your money, how strong your proof is, which door to knock on, and which deadline is running.

Check my case — free

No login. No account details. Nothing uploaded. Ever.

Start with the checker

Sellers in Amazon's world have a whole industry selling them appeal help — $75 to $6,000 a case. Buyers have nobody: two free volunteer advocates, and form letters from Amazon. Before you spend anything or give up, you deserve to know what your case actually is. That answer is free here.

What did Amazon do to your money? — the free checker

Four picks. No login, no account details, nothing uploaded — the checker runs on this page, in your browser.

We never ask for your Amazon login or password — not here, not anywhere. Anyone who does, while offering to help with a closed account, is running the scam this site warns about.

The five ways Amazon keeps a buyer's money

The refund veins

The money for a return never completes the trip

The refund was issued and clawed back. Or it was never issued at all. Or the warehouse says your box arrived empty, or held the wrong item. These three fights are won with paper — one receipt with a package weight on it outweighs a warehouse scan. Took my refund back → · Never arrived → · Empty box →

The letter

A warning about your returns

The letter says your refunds "exceed the expectation." It never says what the expectation is — Amazon publishes no acceptable return rate, to anyone, ever. The warning is the moment your reply, and your next 90 days, decide whether this becomes a closure. The warning letter →

The closure

Account closed, balance voided

The email says Amazon "voided your remaining balance" — under terms that let it act "if we suspect." We will not dress this one up: these are the hardest cases in this space, and this site says so in writing before it sells anyone a kit. The doors still exist, and receipts still matter. Closed with money inside →

The settlement, in one paragraph: a federal court case over exactly these failed refunds produced a $309.5 million settlement fund. If your return falls between Sept 5, 2017 and Feb 12, 2026, you may be in it — some buyers are paid automatically, others must file a claim form by December 1, 2026. Returns after Feb 12, 2026 are not covered at all; those fights are direct, and they're the fights this site is built for long-term. The settlement, explained →

The rules that protect you from the helpers

Panicked buyers are a scam market. Fake "Amazon support" sites charge people for help that isn't Amazon. Strangers offer to "reinstate" buyer accounts for fees, in marketplaces where the only bids come from zero-review freelancers. And some of the loudest "appeal guides" promise things like a 90% chance of winning — a number nobody can know.

RefundGone never asks for your Amazon login. Not on this site, not by email, not in the kit, not ever. Every letter and script here is written for you to send, from your account. And this site grades your case honestly before it sells you anything: if your proof is weak, the free checker says the word "weak," in plain view.

Included in the $39 RefundGone Kit

  • The letter for every door: the reply to Amazon's decision email, the appeal-form walkthrough, the executive-relations letter, and the BBB complaint pack — each pre-structured around your proof, not copied from a template farm
  • The evidence pack, per fight: the weight-receipt protocol, the tracking timeline builder, the gift-card receipt protocol — the paper that raises your case's grade
  • The settlement claim guide: Subclass A vs. Subclass B, the December 1, 2026 deadline calendar, and what to do if your return falls outside the window entirely
  • The warning-letter decoder — Amazon's letter line by line — plus the response playbook and the 90-day reset that keeps a warning from becoming a closure
  • The trapped-balance module with its honest odds in writing: the receipt protocol, the state cash-out laws, the attorney-general complaint, and small claims as the last door

What buyers ask at 2 a.m.

Is this a service? Will you appeal for me?

No. RefundGone is a self-help kit: a checker, letters, evidence checklists, and trackers that you use yourself. There is no established paid service for Amazon buyers at any price — the reinstatement industry serves sellers only. We sell the map for $39, once — and we will never ask for your login.

Amazon says my return box was empty. Can I actually win that?

It depends on one document: the carrier drop-off receipt showing your package's weight. A box that weighed what your item weighs was not empty — that receipt turns your word against their scan into record against record. The free checker grades your case on exactly this.

Should I just do a chargeback with my bank?

As a last resort, it can be legitimate — and buyers report that Amazon closed their accounts in response. It is a door with a price. Read the chargeback warning before you file one, not after.

My account was closed with a gift-card balance inside. Be honest — is there hope?

Honest answer: these are the hardest cases here. When Amazon has decided "fraud," most closures stand, and a professional advocate who takes these cases reports winning none of them. But the closure terms lean on the words "if we suspect" — and buyers holding gift-card purchase receipts from real stores are the exception that sometimes breaks through. This site shows you every door and states the odds before you pay for anything.

Can't I just open a new Amazon account?

Please don't. Amazon links accounts — by payment method, address, device, and the people connected to the first account — and a linked new account gets closed too, sometimes taking a fresh balance with it. Every source in this space confirms it, including the buyers who learned it twice. Fight for the account and the balance you have.

Facts checked Oct 20, 2026 against Amazon's own published terms, its letters as buyers have published them, and the settlement administrator's own announcements. Every fact on this site carries its source and date.
